ECLIPSE is an education and civic engagement program designed to help students and their communities lead the way on environmental stewardship.Through tailored curricula, hands-on learning, and community partnerships, ECLIPSE empowers youth to understand environmental justice, shape local action, and imagine futures where they have a seat at the table.
Young people care deeply about the world around them, but many don’t yet see a clear path to take action. Across the country, especially in historically underrepresented and resource-limited communities, students are too often left out of environmental conversations and solutions. ECLIPSE was created to change that.
Access relevant, local, and empowering education that reflects their lived experiences
Build the skills and confidence to engage in civic life and public decision-making
Discover meaningful pathways into environmental and sustainability careers
We help schools forge strong local connections by coordinating guest speakers, experiential learning opportunities, and partnerships that transform classrooms into launchpads for civic and environmental action.
We co-create adaptable, standards-aligned lessons rooted in local priorities. Educators are supported through hands-on coaching, co-teaching, and professional development in environmental civics and project-based learning—empowering them to guide students in leading meaningful change.
Students lead place-based projects that address pressing community challenges. They develop skills in research, storytelling, action planning, and public presentation—while creating tangible impact where they live.
Through initiatives like the Colorado Seal of Climate Literacy and project showcase events, students gain recognition for their efforts. They connect with mentors and professionals in sustainability, public service, and policy—expanding their impact and exploring future careers.
We’re expanding the program to new sites. If you’re an educator, school district, community leader, or funder interested in youth civic leadership and environmental education, let’s talk.
