Matthias Jaeger is the inaugural Head of Programme, Climate Change and Democracy, at International IDEA in Stockholm, Sweden. He coordinates the development of the programme’s thematic focus areas, builds the necessary structures, and establishes partnerships. For the last years, he has focused on designing and coordinating new initiatives and mobilizing the resources to make them happen. Prior to joining International IDEA in late 2022, he worked for the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the Organization of American States (OAS), Transparency International, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and the German Cooperation Agency GIZ. Matthias is currently based in International IDEA’s Washington, D.C. office.
