Portia Cook is a Colorado native and a proud graduate of Colorado State University, where she earned a B.A. in Journalism and Media Communications. With over a decade of experience as a highly-skilled multimedia communication professional, Portia’s expertise spans a wide range of areas, including multimedia content creation, multi-style writing, copy-editing, live and pre-recorded radio broadcast production, podcast production and hosting, script writing, audio editing, sound and music design, interviewing, and strategic message development.

In recognition of her dedication and excellence in the field, Portia has been honored with prestigious awards, including the Colorado Broadcasters Association Mark of Excellence Award for Best Regularly Scheduled Newscast in 2022 and the Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for Best Radio Feature in the same year. Additionally, her commitment to delivering quality content was acknowledged with a College Media Association Pinnacle Award, securing 2nd place for Best Audio Newscast in 2023.

As a media director, Portia oversees media projects and campaigns, managing teams and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. She is proficient in crafting comprehensive communication strategies, including media plans, crisis communication protocols, and brand messaging guidelines. Portia specializes in creating organizational playbooks that optimize internal processes for efficient communication across all channels. Her experience includes leading communication efforts for both established organizations and emerging platforms, always focusing on innovative solutions that resonate with audiences and achieve measurable results.
