Rich Pelletier

Rich has spent the last 30 years at the intersection of progressive politics and policy. He spent 10 years leading a diverse coalition of environmental and civic organizations as the national field director for America Votes. At AV he has guided states to more inclusive voting laws culminating in Colorado’s vote by mail and same day registration systems while fighting regressive changes to voting laws in a myriad of states.


As a member of the Waycobah Band of Mi’kmaq Indians, he has devoted much of his career to advancing the rights of indigenous peoples. He successfully ran a program to pressure the Biden administration to name Avi Kwa Ame as a national monument, protecting the sacred site from extraction industries and developers.
